Treatment Summary
Before starting Laser Hair Removal treatments, you must fill a consultation form so I can check your medical history and perform a patch test a minimum of 48 hours before your appointment and a course of minimum 8-10 sessions for the body area and a course of minimum 10-12 sessions for the face area is recommended.
The laser I work with is most effective on black coarse hairs.
The sessions will be booked every 4-12 weeks dependant on the area of treatment and based on your feedback post every session. Maintenance post course is once or twice a year.
If you suffer from hormonal imbalance you might need more frequent top-up sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Specific wavelengths of laser light are selectively absorbed by melanin, the dark pigment which surrounds the hair follicle. The laser heats the follicle and disables the follicle at the root, causing the hair to fall out permanently.
Elysion laser uses an integrated patented ‘crystal freeze’ technology to keep the skin surface at a constant five degrees, thereby protecting the skin and ensuring a very comfortable treatment. It also has a Dynamic mode for a truly painless experience.
All lasers can only treat hair in the growing stage, or visible on the surface of the skin. At any one point, this represents approximately 30% of all hairs in the skin. The other hairs are dormant. There are three phases of hair growth, and we need to treat all three phases for maximum clearance.
This means typically a course of 6–10 treatments will be needed for the body area

We can treat all areas of the face and body.
The equipment I work with can effectively treat skin types 1-4 for the body area and skin types 1-3 for the face area. A Fitzpatrick questionnaire will be filled during your consultation so I can assess your skin type. I can also treat tanned skin, as long as you have your treatment 1-2 weeks apart since you sunbathed. Avoid using tanning lotions as I won’t be able to treat you.
We will carry out a comprehensive consultation and patch test, and we will advise you of the results you can expect to achieve.

Pre and Post-treatment Advice
4 weeks prior to treatment:
- No waxing, plucking or threading for at least 4 weeks and/or between laser treatments
1-2 weeks prior to treatment:
- Do not expose the skin to UV or self tan for at least 1-2 weeks before or in between laser treatments
1 week prior to treatment:
- Avoid intense exfoliation, microdermabrasion or peels
24-48 hours prior to treatment:
- Do not use bleaching creams or perfumed products
Please Also:
- Avoid swimming in strong chlorinated water immediately before or after treatment
- Avoid wearing tight clothes when attending treatment sessions
- Hydrate the body by drinking plenty of water
- Protect the skin from sun exposure with suitable clothing and use sun block SPF 30+ before first treatment and between subsequent treatment
For up to 24 hours:
- The skin may be red and warm after treatment, this redness is called Erythema, this is perfectly normal and will naturally subside. If you wish, you can apply a cold compress to help calm the redness. However, it is advisable to avoid using ice as this may irritate the skin. You can also use soothing preparations such as aloe vera. It will help to soothe the skin and reduce redness after hair removal.
- Avoid using make up on the treated area, thus allowing the skin to cool naturally and more comfortably.
For 48 Hours:
- Avoid all heat treatments including hot baths, saunas, steam baths and showers.
- No swimming in strongly chlorinated water.
- Do not use bleaching creams.
- Avoid perfumed products e.g., soaps, creams or perfumes.
- Leave any temporary skin responses such as redness to subside naturally.
- Do not touch, pick, scratch or otherwise irritate the area.
- No shaving to avoid any skin reaction.
For 1 week:
- Avoid shaving the area treated 1-3 weeks post session.
- Do not exfoliate the treated area or use peels for 1-2 weks post treatment.
- You can exfoliate the area up to 3 times / week until your next appointment.
For 2 weeks:
- No UV exposure.
- No self tan.
- Avoid waxing, plucking, threading or depilation creams.
- Avoid prolonged outdoor activity that may expose the skin to a lot of wind or sun.
For 3 weeks:
- Use sun protection SPF +30.
- Limit sun exposure and do not use tanning beds for at least 3 weeks.
